Chiropractic is a form of preventive and restorative medical treatment that remedies the root cause of many common ailments, to restore wellness. Relief from symptoms results from elimination of the root cause of the ailment.
Some maladies respond best when a combination of therapies are given in addition to Chiropractic. In other cases, therapies other than Chiropractic are the best course of treatment. Dey Street Chiropractic brings several of these therapies to one place in our office
Dey Street Chiropractic is an established wellness practice in Manhattan that offers these wellness therapies:
Dr. Farren recognizes that New Yorkers lead very busy lives. He wants his patients to be treated with the same courtesy and consideration he’d want for himself or his family. He ensures that patients are seen quickly, at their appointed times. He rejects treating patients like they are being run through a mill as is frequently done in other medical practices. A personal touch, and caring interaction, are the distinguishing difference at Dey Street Chiropractic.
Chiropractic is about restoring the body to health, so that it can perform at the peak of it’s potential. Relief from pain, and freedom from discomfort are side effects to the restorative treatment of modern Chiropractic.
Preventing a malady from returning starts with education. Every patient, on every visit is asked how they are doing and evaluated. Based on their response, they are given tips and advice to help maintain and improve their health:
“Chiropractic is not sick care medicine; It is health care. Health care prolongs health - not just treating symptoms.” Dr. Jay Farren, DC
We tend to live a sedentary life style working in offices. A lot of people are sitting for 8 or 9 hours a day. Some people are just standing 9 hours a day. This causes fatigue and posture issues that Chiropractic treatment will remedy and prevent. Chiropractic also prevents is wear and tear injuries or postural injuries.
Over the course of a day, a posture takes a shape from the position it’s been in. It's hard to revert back to normal position. When people are sitting for 8 hours a day, their shoulders become rounded, their head is pushed out, a lot of stress is put on the spine, the nervous system and the muscles.
Over years, posture issues can get worse. You may have noticed that some older people are hunched over. They were not always like that. The process started years ago when they sat with incorrect posture. Over time, fatigue set, and lack of mobility set in, eventually arthritis set in.
If you get adjusted on a monthly basis, it helps the body revert back to its normal position and then stay that way. Periodic Chiropractic adjustment slows postural changes and prevents deterioration of the spine and joints.
